 The CQC are now inspecting and scoring against the new 34 Quality Statements that make up the new single assessment framework.​

​

Quality Statements make up the CQC 5 Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs)  as follows:

​

Safe Domain 8 Quality Statement

Effective Domain 6 Quality Statements

Caring Domain 5 Quality Statements

Responsive Domain  7 Quality Statements

Well Led 8 Quality Statements

Each Quality Staement is given a score based on the inspection and available evidence as follows:

​

Score 1 - Equivalent to Inadequate 

Score 2 - Equivalent to Requires Improvement

Score 3 - Equivalant to Good 

Score 4 - Equivalent to Outstanding

The "combined scores" within each KLOE are then calculated to reach a rating for the respective KLOE. 

 

For example.......

​

A total combined score of 21 in SAFE would be calulated as 21/32*100=65%

 

The scores achieved within each KLOE fit within the ratings ranges below :

​

Inadequate Range                            25 to 38%    

Requires Improvement Range         39 to 62%

Good Range                                     63 to 87%

Outstanding Range                          Over 87%

The example given above as you can see is 65% which fits in the bottom end of good, however, you will know from the 8 individual quality statement scores awartded which scored well and which not so well, enabling you to apply focus on what needs improving and of course what is good and you could do better towards outstanding scoring.
